Marble in vermont

Sharing the Story of Vermont Marble

Dimensions of Marble (DOM) is designed to bring the story of one of Vermont's major natural resources to as broad a public as possible. DOM was founded in 2005 by a small group of Vermont citizens who believe that the story of marble, its history, its artistry and the people who worked in the marble industry should be documented and shared with all Vermonters as well as national and international audiences.

Join us at Three Tomatoes Trattoria on December 9, 2009 To show their support of arts and the community, Three Tomatoes Trattoria will donate $1 per entree to benefit Dimensions of Marble programs. So please dine at any of their four locations (Rutland, Lebanon, Burlington, and Williston) in support of Dimensions of Marble. View the invitation.

DOM Projects
Through six distinct DOM projects we will bring together the history of marble quarries and workers, the communities in which they lived, the artistry of sculptors past and present and the vision of the people who, over generations, created a multitude of useful new products.  We invite your feedback and perspective on our mission or any of our projects!

Care to get involved?
Please join us! There are many ways you can participate — even if by a simple (but much appreciated) donation to support our non-profit organization. Help us serve all those who have recognized the value of marble and brought the benefits of it to Vermont, the nation and the world through architecture, important everyday products and beautiful art.
